With an arid, sunny and hot climate, the Sonora Desert is an excellent location for growing medjool dates. There are many varieties of dates but the medjool dates (a native to Morocco) are considered the elite of all varieties. With a sweet, rich, buttery, caramel flavor the medjools will satisfy your sweet tooth and is good for your health as well. Medjool dates have no cholesterol, no fat and high fiber content. In ancient tiems dates were referred to as "King's Food" and are also highly considered to be the first crop cultivated by mankind.
